Why take ayahuasca?

Ayahuasca Retreat

Taking Ayahuasca is a personal decision. At Kaw Say Retreat drinking ayahuasca is more than a ritual. Ayahuasca is sometimes presented as a remedy for many illnesses, and at times it can seem like a simple solution to solve personal problems. However, it is only a tool that, if used correctly, can act as a trigger for the therapeutic process or the process of personal development. Each person is unique, much of our internal thought processes and emotions constitute unexplored terrain. That is where this tool can have its role: it can allow us to obtain more knowledge about emotions, thoughts, behavior, the body and interpersonal relationships. This greater awareness in these areas can allow us to work on these aspects to achieve strategies that improve our lives.

What types of Ayahuasca sessions are there at Kawsay Ayahuasca Retreat?

Meetings with ayahuasca are usually in a group environment of between 5 and 12 people, although sometimes there are meetings with up to a hundred individuals or more. But at Kawsay Ayahuasca Retreat we make the retreats or sessions more personalized. These usually take place at night, although exceptionally they can be during the day. An ayahuasca session generally lasts between three and seven hours. Some centers or groups allow you to stay overnight after the session, although it is not a rule. There is always a guide, who can be a healer, a shaman, a therapist, a godfather or teacher from the ayahuasca churches, or someone who knows well how to carry out these sessions. At the beginning, some time is dedicated to share the purposes of each one in relation to the session, after which the ayahuasca is distributed and the shots begin.

Benefits

Although, from a scientific point of view, there is still a lot of work to be done to prove that ayahuasca has healing or beneficial properties for personal development, the number of stories from people who have experimented with it frequently suggest a clear improvement for both the individual and the individual. as for the people around you. These people speak of moving, innovative experiences and of great personal benefit in many aspects, both physical and mental. Many of them also experience elevated states of spirituality or mystical states, where they feel a union with a reality greater than their own individuality, which offers them encouragement and energy to continue facing the day to day and enrich their vision of the world. Even difficult experiences are often instructive and helpful. Rarely does someone return from an ayahuasca experience without having learned something important about themselves, others, or the nature of reality.

Although it is often said that a single shot of ayahuasca is better than ten years of therapy, in order for lasting therapeutic improvement related to changing maladaptive behavioral habits, solving problems created by life traumas or solving deep-rooted negative family dynamics to occur, it is necessary therapeutic work prior to taking and extensive integration and follow-up. Only when the ayahuasca experience is integrated into the framework of a therapeutic program is it possible to increase the effectiveness of the personal process. There are reports of therapeutic results with ayahuasca for people with problems of depression, exhaustion, grief, addiction, relationships damaged by feelings of guilt and emotional pain, childhood traumas, acceptance of death in people with terminal illnesses, etc.
